    D70 noise reduction.
    I've been using the D70for some time exposures w/ noise reduction and find that it takes as long as the exposure to complete. For an 8 min exp it tkes 8min for noise reduction. So, a 30 min exp with noise reduction takes 1 hour to comlete! Is this normal?

    Yeah, the NR takes the exposure, then takes an equally long exposure of total blackness, overlays the two, and subtracts all the noise and hot pixels. Well, that's basically what it does anyways. I have that setting turned off since hot pixels are easy enough to fix in PP, and noise can also be removed in post...
