color calibration on monitors and printers

I've been lax in my duties at our practice in getting the monitors and dye-sub printers calibrated so that what we see visually, on our monitors, and on photo prints are color matched for accuracy. I sort of have a vague idea how to begin, but if there are any graphics gurus out there, please give some tips. What equipment should I get...etc. Cost is not a great factor, but we do have 4 photo printers and 13 (soon to be 18) ops that need to be calibrated. I look forward to any help here. Thanks Peter. One thing I didn't mention was that the cameras have to be calibrated as well since the images have to match monitor and printer output. I've looked at the 10D's we have, but as far as I can tell, there is no capability to custom profile the 10D's, only the 1D Mk II. Anyone out there know immediately if the 20D or 5D have the ability to load custom color profiles? I'd really hate to have to purchase additional 1D's for the sake of color matching.

You don't need to custom profile the 10D, 1DmkII, 20D or 5D. What you do need to do is capture the image in the greatest colour space.

Then Profile the monitor, Profile the Printers for each of the paper you are printing onto, and use proper software which you have already to do the conversions from RAW. Like Capture One Pro or Rawshooter Professional, each of these programs you can get relatvie camera profiles for from gretagmacbeth.

You do know what you are doing, you have shown that for the time you have been a member on this site, not just from the photography, but help and advice that you have given as well. Don't cut yourself short in regards to getting it right from camera to print.
