Cheap image storage on the move?

    Hello to all
Ill be making a 10 day trip to S'pore and KL soon and i just didnt want to carry my laptop with me...are there any good image storage devices for less than 200$?

I saw one on BH - called SmartDisk FotoChute FCD 20 for 150$ but had never heard of the company. Have any of you had any expereince with the same? I plan to buy it from the US thru a friend but if something goes wrong, i wont be able to use the warranty so thats a cause for worry...the link is :

Re: Cheap image storage on the move?

    I have a Innoplus Phototainer.
Its screen died last week and I totally rely on it !

So while it's undergoing its one MONTH return to manufacturer for repair.
I have to get something else to do the job.

For sheer low cost, I chose the VP2160 X'S-Drive II Plus
    http://www.vosonic.co.uk/vp2160.html

It doesn't display images, it just copies a memory card onto the hard disk.
Two buttons, so even I can use it
    On/Off
    and
    COPY

For the 80GB model (5-6 days' heavy shooting for me) in the UK it's £279 in the US it's $329
Smaller models are cheaper, and at $229 from expansys in the USA you may be able to find a 30GB model somewhere within your budget.

Mine should arrive tomorrow, so I can post some feedback on it after using it this weekend.

Where are you in the world?

Re: Cheap image storage on the move?

    Thanks for the information Paul!

I'm from Bombay, India. However, I'll be making a trip to S'pore and have a friend coming down from NY so im looking at all the options available.

Btw would any one know whether BH, newegg etc would deliver to a hotel?

    TIA!
