I own a Canon PowerShot G2 and have the Canon 420EX Flash unit.

I want to purchase one of the Sunpak Digital Flash Adapters for the purpose of handling both the camera and flash unit easier and this looks like it would do nicely adding to the stability.

My concern is with the built in flash controls that both the Sunpak and Canon 420EX have conflicting with each other perhaps harming the equipment?

I would like to use the Sunpak mainly as a mounting device for the flash.

I did contact Canon and got a speedy reply that they only support information on their own equipment.

Your help would be sincerely appreciated.
