Can't decide Nikon D 60 or the Canon XS
I hope i've come to the right place ;)
I am interesting in purchasing my first digital SLR and am tied to a budget. I don't want to spend more than $700 and am having trouble choosing between the Nikon D60 and the yet to be released Canon XS. I looked at the specs for both cameras, and still can't make up my mind. I've seen features i like in each camera. I'd appreciate any advice / thoughts you folks might have on these two cameras, of course, i'm open to others, provided they fit in my budget.
Thanks,
Re: Can't decide Nikon D 60 or the Canon XS
I have a D60 and find it to be everything I wanted it to be. Yeah, there are a few wistles and bells on other cameras I would hav e liked ... but for the money ... I love it !
You have read the specs of each and that didn't really sway you one way or the other.
The best advise I can give you is grab each one ... feel it in your hand ... how does it feel ?
They are both good cameras (I am a bit partial to Nikon) but ... which would you like to carry around all day ? Which one swings up to eye easly ? How's it feel ?
I think if you answer these questions, you will know which to buy.

The quest I have to ask, Do you have a film SLR? If so purchase a Digital SLR of the same make if available, so you can use your current lenses if you have any.

Thanks Dave, I guess i'll wait for the XS to become available and play around with it. I liked the feel of the XSi, but i believe the body of the XS will be somewhat different. Thanks for the advice!!
