I'm in the market for either a d200 or a 40d. My guess is that I could be equally happy with a Nikon or Canon, but I don't know anything about how their lenses compare.

I've noticed that the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom Lens runs for under a grand, whereas a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Zoom Lens sells for about $1,100.

I am shooting sports photography so my main concern is speed and autofocus. Is there a big difference between Canon and Nikon glass?
