    Negatives to CD?

Is it possible to have 35mm negatives put on a CD? If so, where? What about the quality?I would love to have the pictures from my trip to France a few years ago on a CD.

    Thanks

    Re: Negatives to CD?

A lot of labs will do this at time of developing, and it's a lot less expensive then. A couple of options - you could have a lab do this and maybe pick only the most important ones to try to save some money. They may offer different options for resolution - some places charge more for higher resolution (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but that's how it works). You'll probably pay a per-image cost and then for the CD that they'll burn it to.

OTOH, that lab bill might as much as a fairly inexpensive flatbed scanner. This will be a time consuming option but as long as you have a scanner with Digital ICE you'll have much less of a problem with dust (although it's best to blow them off with a bulb first anyway).

    Re: Negatives to CD?

I have never tried walmart, but I am nearly positive they can burn your images to a CD if they WANTED TO. All new digital labs scan the film into a FILE to print to paper. That JOB( all your film images) should be able to be burned to a disk with a simple click of the mouse ;)

now be forewarned that some minilabs scan a basic image file PRE adjustments and put that file to disk.
