Canon AV1 + 50mm f1.8

could anyone recommend the best film to use for black and white pictures with
this camera/lens?

I just bought this camera so I'm fairly new to all of this, I just want to experiment
and have a bit of fun:thumbsup:

But the choice of film doesn't depend on the camera.
It depends on what you want the pictures to look like.

I have to defer to the experts in the Film forum.

Update: googled the AV1, I missed out on that on that during my school years.
Predecessor of the AE-1 and A1, which explains it.
I had no money while I was at school, and little when I went to college.

thanks for the quick replies, I've been told that Ilford HP5 Plus film would be okay for the type of action shots I want to create.
