Calendars??

Has anyone had a calendar made from their photos from either a local lab or an online service ?

If so how were the results? Any recommendations?

I'm going to be making calendars for family members for Xmas, a run of maybe 5-10 calendars (as some places have minimums). Thanks.

I know it's not a calender but www.blurb.com is something i have heard nothing but good things about. Check it out maybe you would want to do a book instead of a calender after you see this.

I have been printing calendars for both gifts and for sale for the last 3 years. I have checked all the local shops, as well as many online printers. What I have found is that most of the places that don't have a minimum quantity charge right around $20 for a calendar. I wanted to print around 25 the first year, and it just got too expensive to go that route. I opted to use a company I found online called www.printpelican.com They have a minimum quantity of 25, but they are a little cheaper per unit than the other places I had looked. Last year I ordered 50 and got them for around $7 each. Of course if you only want 5 or 10, you would be better off going with someone else.

The quality of Print Pelican is OK. Not great, and not horrible. I would like to get a better quality but for a large quantity it is just too expensive.

I printed some calendars at LULU.com and it was about $14 per calendars, only did it once.

:) thought you might be if you didn't know about it before. i think it's a really cool idea.

I did a bunch last year with mpix - What I liked most about them was the ability to edit a certain date on the calendar. These were all for my family, so I got them all to pose through-out the year and put their pic on their b-day. So now everyone knows when the birthdays are. Everyone liked the calendars. I opted for the larger full page calendars instead of the bound in the middle style. They were large - next time I will go the other route.

The quality was great. I was very pleased with them and would print with them again.

I have gone through Shutterfly a few times. Decent quality, and customizable dates are great

I was not really happy but I comparing with the output of the Epson Photo printer. I was hoping for better quality. But it was not as good as Nat. G. but better than the New Paper, average to below average in resolution but colors were right on. I did send in 250 to 300 dpi images.

Yes, and I was very pleased with mine but that's in the UK.

I'm looking at calendero.com right now. I't seems very professional and the service is great. I'll let you know how the quality is when I get my calendar.

I got my order of 2009 calendars yesterday. One of the things I like about printpelican.com is that they don't seem to be able to count. In the last 4 years of doing a calendar, I have always received more calendars than I ordered. :) This year I ordered 50 and received 58. That brings my cost per calendar to $8.37.
