Which brand/model for both film and digital
I would like to hear any suggestions regarding the best brand to choose if I want to shoot both with film and digitally using the same lenses for both format of cameras. An example would be the Canon Rebel Ti (35mm) and the Digital Rebel, both of which accept the Canon EF line of lenses.
    Thank you,

Most of the major manufacturers now make both film and digital SLR cameras that have compatible lens mounts. However some lenses are specifically designed for digital to meet the needs of the sensor - the performance of the lens has to be really excellent. All designed-for film lenses will fit on a digital body, but the designed-for-digital lenses won't fit or aren't usable on a film body.

For instance, the 18-55 EF-S kit lens that comes with the Canon Digital Rebel won't fit on a film body. The 18-70 kit lens that comes with the Nikon D70 will fit on a film body, but the image is dark around the edges.

Leica Digital R is both a film and digital camera all in one

Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Minolta all fit your requirements of film and digital. Fuji DSLRs use Nikon lenses. Don't automatically jump to the two big names, Canon and Nikon. Pentax, for example is a well thought out camera system with ergonomics that no others can beat and lens compatability that even Nikon can't match.. Minolta has IS built into the sensor assembly, giving you IS with every lens.

Isn't this still vaporware? I haven't seen this back for sale anywhere.

Well,my Leica nut friend hasn't been able to find any dealer in the US that has even seen one. Not, of course, as if he actually has the money for it right now! Lots of things are announced, sometimes they never get to market. It looks cool but someone has to get their hands on a production unit to actually see how well it works.

    Just to clarify, the Module R isn't a camera itself - it's a digital back that's built for the R8 & R9 cameras.
