Bowen Esprit Gemini 500w - Lamp Problem
Been using a couple of these at work and for some reason one of the lamps isn't working. The bulb that was in it wouldn't work on the other flash head we have and the working bulb wouldn't operate in the head the old bulb came from. This has left me scrating my head as to whether it is the bulb, the head or both.
Has anyone had a similar problem before? Can anyone help me out?
Many thanks
Re: Bowen Esprit Gemini 500w - Lamp Problem
Just to be sure I understand, the bulb you knew was good doesn't work in the the "problem" head. Have you tried taking this bulb (that you knew was good at least until before you put it in the "problem" head) out and putting it back in the good head?
If you have done this and the "good" bulb now doesn't work, then I wonder if there's a short in the new "problem" head that's causing it to blow the bulbs.

The good bulb still works. The only things that aren't working are the old bulb and the head it was in.

Have you checked the socket for burnt marks, arc marks and is looks black? Once the socket has started arcing you have to replace the lamp and socket. This happens with the Overhead Transparency Projectors at work all the time.
