    Best Portrait Lenses
    Hi Everyone!

I need advise on Canon lenses for indoor portraits. I'm planning on upgrading my lens with Canon L lens. The ideal lens will be used mainly for weddings and portraits and with my Canon 10D. Can anyone please tell me what would be the best zoom lens for this type of events?

    Thanks in advance!

    The classic portait lens is.....
either an 85mm or 105mm, for 35mm photography. This gives a pleasing working distance to the Model in order to communicate etc & to give a good perspective for the face.

So any lens that covers these distances would be fine. I don't use Canon, do can't recomend a particular lens, other than the ultimate fashion wedding lens is the 70-200mm f2.8L, but quite pricey.

    Best of luck.

    My prosumer 2 cents :-)
Hi JV. I shoot studio pretty extensively at work with the 10D using the 85mm f1.8.
I occasionally use the 135 f2.0 L as well, but because of the 1.6x factor of the 10D, I don't typically have the working distance I need for the 135 in the small studio setup we have in the office. I love the 70-200 f2.8L as well, but my favourite is definitely the 85. From the reviews posted here on this site, I chose the commercial f1.8 version of this lens rather than the considerably more expensive f1.2L version of the 85.
Outdoors and at weddings, definitely my go to lens is the 70-200mm f2.8L IS. Period.
    Hope that helps :)
