    Battery adaptor for overseas?
I'm going to Yugoslavia for a week. I have a battery charger and 2 batteries for my Canon XT. Can I use this charger there? Where would I get an adaptor. I'm leaving Sunday, so need to act soon. Thanks for any help. :)

Liz just get a normal travel adaptor that you would use and plug that in first then plug the charger into that plug. Shouldn't have a problem.

    And isn't it Bosnia-Hertzagovnia now.

    Have a good trip.

I'm not much of an international traveler, but I think Peter is right. A good electronics store should be able to help with this, B&H possibly.

Have a great time and show us the pictures when you get back!

    Thanks Steve,

I'm still trying to decide whether or not to get the 17-85mm IS lens......I would love to just take one lens......but hate to take the chance of getting a "bad" copy or just not being happy.

I have a Bosnian friend here at work. She's shown me some beautiful photos from there.

Liz, I did see your post about that lens. It sounds like a good bet - especially for situations like this. If you had the lens for awhile and were comfortable about it, it might be a different story - but then your 50mm prime (you still have it, right?) is small and light. I'd probably take that too, being usually way too conservative about this stuff...

It wouldn't replace the focal lengths but would still give you something to work with. Call me crazy, old fashioned or whatever but sometimes I like to travel light with just a 50. It's a different mindset than a zoom.

Liz, should only need an adapter, not a transformer. Check your charger to be sure but it's probably rated from 110 to 240 volts. That means you just need something to change the physical connection. Any Radioshack will carry this.
