    batteries??
    Hello,
am looking to stock up on NiMh batteries for my minolta DiMage s414 and other appliances, and founds dozens of brands of batteries, mostly ones I have never heard of or seen on a review page, on sale at sites like batterieswholesale, batteryspace.com, and eBay.

Has anyone here been burned buying no-name batteries? My concern is that they are dead or mis-labeled batteries, or just poor quality.

ON the flip side, does anyone have loyalty to a specific brand?
Same question applies to rapid chargers - what do I do?

    Re: batteries??
I bought my 2100 mAh NiMh batteries on ebay over a year ago. The brand is Digital (never heard of it) and since they weren't expensive and the seller had a good rating I bought them. It came as a package with batteries and another no-name charger. They still work great, and when I added more I just bought the same thing - even less at that point because they weren't the highest capacity. I didn't know if there would be a problem with different brands or capacities in the same charger, so by getting the same ones, I eliminated that possibility.

I'd recommend getting one level lower than the highest capacity out there, maybe it's 2300mAh. The current biggest/fastest/best always costs a lot more for not much more performance.

I've had the Digital brand for my Kodak digicam for the past year. Also use the batteries in a Walkman and cordless keyboard/mouse combo. They do just fine.

Digital is carried by Wal-Mart now - and their pricing is somewhat better than the 'final delivered cost' you'll get from the eBay crowd. If you have any concerns about the 'off brand', they also stock Duracell and Rayovac for just a little more.
