    B&W effects filters
    Hey guys,
I wondering if you guys have experience with any of these filters and their recommended uses. I want to try out a couple colours to start before I invest in a whole set.

    thanks

I moved your post to the Help forum.

I really haven't done a whole lot with B&W filters myself but have occasionally used a dark red (25) filter to bring out the sky. Basically, they darken the complementary color (red to blue) and lighten the color of the filter itself.

I've gotten some nice results with a dark red filter. It makes for longer exposure times but provides nice contrast.

A member of my Mind Of Minolta group, recently wrote up a training lesson for us on Filters, which includes about two pages of info on filters for black & white. You should find it enlightening.

This is a Word document, so you will need Word or the Word Viewer plug-in to view it. And if you have any problems with the link, just look for Mind Of Minolta on Yahoo Groups, and check out 'filters.doc' in the Files section.
