Any DVD's for first time digital camera users?
I just bought a friend a refurbished Canon A1000 for her birthday. She is on disability right now, and reading comprehension is part of her problem. She has never used a digital camera (she has a Samsung film camera). Just getting through the manual would be a challenge. She would quickly learn if there were someone there to "demonstrate" for her. However, she just moved and none of her friends are close by to assist her. I'll be visiting her, but not until June.
I'm wondering if there are any DVD's for first-time digital camera users that would help her get through the learning curve?
Thanks for any input or thoughts.

Liz, I don't know of any DVD's but I would recommend the web site I have below. This site will let you change the camera settings and see just how each change effects the picture, Jeff
I just re read your post and realized my suggestion won't be of much help to her.:cryin:

Not even close to approaching a video manual, but a nice overview of features and functions.

not sayin' this is your solution, but spend some time looking around.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Unfortunately Monica does not have access to the internet - at least not yet.
The good news is that she does well with the film p&s, and she can use this one straight out of the box. She can at least take some pictures - then when I visit her in June I'll see how far along she gets, and go from there.
Thanks again for taking the time to help out.
