Inserting frames in PS

Hello to all...
Been working on PS7 for the last few weeks... so now i have a bunch of pictures on whom i want to attach simple picture frames on PS like the one most people use when post their pictures online.... how do i do that ?

hmmm, I'm not exactly sure if I'm understanding you right, but here's how I make mine:

In the toolbox, set your background color to the color you want your frame.

Now go to Image --> Canvas Size, and increase your image to the size you ultimately want your picture and frame to be. I sometimes use a percentage, it all depends.

I often do this process a couple of times, changing the background color and percent of canvas size enlargement each time, in order to get a small thin line around my image. I might even do it three times if I want a small thin line around the outside of the frame, too.

So it ends up lookiing something like this: (I made this extremely quickly so I didn't figure out the proper proportions I wanted, nor the colors)

Now while im at it - could any one also tell me how to put fancier frames - maybe wood textured etc etc?

not sure about wood textured, that would be hard (though not impossible, it's just not simple). I have, however, made textured frames so that they look like matboard, with a shadow even. If you're going to do that, you do basically the same thing, only you'd need to use layers.

So first, make a duplicate layer of your image. Delete the image off the BACKGROUND layer. Heck, don't work on the background layer at all, just work on the layers above it. Make another blank layer, put it underneath your image layer.

Now increase your canvas size as you wish. Fill the blank layer with a color. Apply a texture.

Rinse and repeat.

j/k, what I'm really saying is "repeat for as many different layer/frame effects as you wish: matboard, etc. If you want to make a matboard inner frame, you can apply a beveled edge to the corners; although I've forgotten how just offhand, but it's easy.

When done, flatten the image.

Here's another quickie down n dirty example I made. It's terribly ugly, but I just wanted to give you an example of what I was talking about.

For the outside frame, I added noise and then a filter.

For the inner shadows, I went to "layer styles".
