Well, you didn't give much time at all for someone to answer...? Sometimes it takes a while for the right person to post a reply.

    What was your question?

    Re: Going on vacation

Read it this morning and they wanted to know what lens to use on this vacation.
I didn't know so I didn't answer so I guess Mahopac thinks we all stay up all day to give immediate responses.

    Mahopac, G'day.

What subjects do you like to photograph, what lenses do you have and what is the lens that you feel most happy with?

    Warren.

You do realize guest users also browse the site, don't you? They outnumber registered posting-capable members about 10 to 1 – but often more. Also, your own clicks count too.

The questions Warren asked will help solve your issue about which lens to use for vacation. For example, if you are fully intending to go an a birding-exclusive trip and would like to photograph birds only, a 50-200mm + 2x TC would be a good idea.

If only for general "walk around" stuff, such as family head portraits, then switch to a landscape shot... grab a plane as it is coming in. I would suggest the 18-180mm. It will have a slight degradation in image quality, but if you aren't worried about that and wish to have the convenience of one "do-it-all" lens, 18-180 (36-360mm) would be a good choice, the zoom range is very versatile for most uses.

29 of them probably had the same question and were looking for an answer as well.

    Re: Going on vacation

What a strange thread, I guess Mahopac must have been going on vacation immediately and was getting late for the flight waiting for a response.
Keep your sense of proportion by regularly, preferably daily, visiting the natural world.
