37mm lense fitting

Tried a search to answer my question but unfortunately no luck there.

I have a Kodak Easy Share LS443 and was looking to purchase the 37mm telephoto lens attachment. While price searching for this lense I found it for as low as $45 when off to the side in one of those advertisement banners it showed alternative products to my search. Low and behold, here is a Sony 37mm telephoto lense for only $19.

Any reason the Sony wouldn't work? I mean with such a price difference? They both magnify 2.0 and appear to be of similiar size.

I can think of two possible trip-ups:

1. The lenses may be designed for different 'lens to sensor' distances - and if so, one wouldn't work well on the other brand camera.

2. The attachment threading may be internal on one and external on the other.

Would be best if you could find both in a local shop, where you could examine them side by side.
