    Recover Lost Photographs!

Hi guys, I just found this and thought I'd pass this along.

Pick up a copy of the January 2005 Macworld magazine (cover: Digital Camera Superguide), and on pg. 80 is an article about how to recover lost photographs on your memory card.

The software they talk about primarily is called DataRescue's PhotoRescue (www.datarescue.com). It's a good article though, so I'd recommend giving it a read-through, if only at your local library. The software is for both mac and PC.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with this software, but am passing along what I've read.

    Kelly,

I recommend this software here all the time, so it is nothing new here. But it is good to post about articles for the new people that have been arriving as well.

What I liked about the article is that it explained which images have the hope of being recovered, and which images are lost forever.

It also suggests "rehearsing for disaster." I would have never thought of doing that.

Not a bad idea. I'm pretty sure that if I ever needed something like this I'd not really be in the mood to read instructions! ;) I do have Lexar's rescue program and it seems to work but very slowly. I've only tried it once though, just to see what it did.

Usually things go wrong at the worst times, like when you need to send a shot off right away - this way you'd already know what to do. I'll have to look for the magazine.
