    The Return of Polaroid??
There have been a raft of rumors and stories of late about the attempt to start up the Polaroid film process again. After the last couple of bankruptcy filings, sales and licensing of brand names for everything from digital cameras to digital frames to other electronics it was not looking good for the return of Polaroid. Since May 1st, 2009 I keep seeing and hearing more and more. Several stories including this article from the past week have begun to circulate. Maybe, maybe . . .

D - Last I heard, Polaroid company was pretty much in liquidation. If they still have an active patent on the film, then I would imagine that the patent would be sold off, if anyone wants it, to pay off debts. Either way, I could see some Taiwanese or whatever company producing a small run of the film if there is a market for it. The real Q is, is there? Why does anyone need Polaroid film now that digital is here? It's a Q that we film lovers hate to hear, but we can't escape from ...........

This thread has been resurrected just in time it appears. There's strange news on the Polaroid - Instant Photography horizon from CES in the past week.

    http://reviews.photographyreview.com...ital-camera/2/

This posting/press release notice included the announcement of various new directions for the Polaroid 'brand/label'. The now Minnesota based Polaroid company is doing a fair amount of branding again with digital products and also seems to be trying to catch the Euro-wave interest in old school instant photography.

Note: The press release information linked above includes information about the hype of using the pop-star Lady GaGa as a spokesperson/creative director.

Not sure what to make of all this and wonder if this too will fall flat or be just a blip??
