    Ektar 100 in the Canonet
Though my Velvia slides are back I'm having difficulty scanning them into anything that compares to the slides. I need a real slide scanner. My Epson 3170 just isn't cutting it for me.

On the bright side my roll of Ektar 100 got developed and I scanned a couple prints made from the negs. I suppose a more sophisticated camera could do better with this film but my impression is that it is pretty much a neutral film. The egg photo below is about the most vibrant photo on the roll. Of course, most of my shots were taken in an overcast sky but a few were taken in sunlight and still the colors seemed subdued quite a bit. Nothing earth-shattering here, but these were my four favorites from the roll.

Wow, that is neutral. For some reason I was under the impression Ektar was a more saturated/vivid film  Love the expression on the cows face...lol

Agreed about the film. With that look, I'm wondering if it would gain a bit of an antique sort of look in an old(er) camera. If they make it in 120, perhaps I'd try for that in my Zeiss. Great shots, though.

I can't find any place that has Ektar in 120. I was going to try some too.

Ektar, for now, is only available in 35mm unfortunately. My guess being is because it is a "consumer" film and they only have their "professional" film available in larger formats. Start an email campaign though and who knows, maybe that could change :)

Thanks for sharing Ray. I have a roll or Ektar in my AE-1 that a pro friend of mine gave me to try out. I had no idea what to expect from it, until now. Thanks for sharing.
