    Bencini Comet IIS

Can anyone tell me about this camera my dad gave it to me years ago as i had asked if he still had it , i have just found it in my old caravan, From what i remember my dad had it in the 1960s,

I used this to take my 1st ever photos while on a school trip back in the early 1980s

My dad has loads of old photos from it and they were square in shape

What kind of film would this have been and can you still get it if so where from as i would love to try and take a few shots with it

your response would be greatly appreciated here is also a shot taken of me on this camera back in 1972 and also some of the camera now

    thanks

Looks like 127, but it's be easier to tell if you opened the back and took a photo of the inside.
After checking there's no film left in it of course !

Yes. As long as you get 127 and not 120 !
120 is a physically wider film and the spool won't fit in the camera.
So make sure that you order off a link that says 127 only, otherwise you may get the wrong thing.
I have only seen Neopan in 120 size online, not 127.

I was going to recommend fotoimpex, or retrophotographic, but they're out of stock of 127.
    http://www.retrophotographic.com/shop/4/22/index.htm
Might be worth giving them a call to see when they'll restock.

Or if your German's OK http://macodirect.de/efke-100-c-1_6_55_138.html
Maco seem to have the Efke film in stock, same film that retrophotographic sell.

    They also have colour filmhttp://macodirect.de/films-maco-c-1_6_119.html

    Re: Bencini Comet IIS

If it was this link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-Neo.../dp/B0000YB6WM
then they're selling 120 film judging by the box, and it's a Colour process film, not true silver B&W - if that matters to you.

Oh yes if you read the description it says "Rollfilm: 120" and there is no mention in the details of 127, only in the slightly misleading title.

At £5 per film they're making a profit (of course!) over buying from Germany for €4.75.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...B0000YB6WM/new

    Re: Bencini Comet IIS

It'll be OK (but tricky to cut straight) if you have a spare 127 spool to wind it on.
You need the film spool and an empty spool to wind the film onto.
Must check I've got one ...

I'll split an order if you want more than 1 film, I've got a Brownie 127 to feed
Found in the case it has the yellow contrast filter, and close-up lens too.

127 film contact printed onto paper gives amazing quality on a small print.
I saved the contact printer from dad's house when we cleared out.
But need to give it an electrical safety test !

    Got a quote from lab@farnells.plus.com for a 127 B&W film.

    Dear Paul
We could process this film for you for £3.60+vat. If there are images on it to scan to CD would cost an additional £12.00.
    Regards
    David Farnell

I'm going to use them for the 35 year old film I found in the brownie.
