    Video camera for slow motion
    Hi guys,
I'm after some advice on an appropriate digital video camera to be used for recording in a high frames per second. eg filming a golfswing and playing back in smooth slow motion.
    My budget is around $1000

    Thanks.

Not entirely sure you can achieve this and stay under budget. all mini dv video cameras (in australia) record at 25 fps (frames per second) the ones typically used by golf clinics etc have a variable fps rate this will blow your budget, however for your average hacker their swing is usually slow enough that 25fps will capture it with reasonable clarity. the trick is to get a camera that allows for manual control of the shutter speed and set this as high as the available lighting will allow. Doing this means that each discreet frame (we have 25 per second) will be sharp and not blurred do to the motion. As long as you are not tapeing pga players you should be fine.

We have set our golf pro up with the Canon Optura 30, it has a shutter speed of 1/8000 of a second and has been doing quite well for the year.
