    Bescor: On Camera Light Kit

I'm considering this Bescor on camera light kit to go with the Canon Video Camera I'm buying. It has a 50watt light and has a dimmer with barn doors among other things. I also like the price. Any opinion or suggestions?

basically it is a trade off between having a light / battery combo that isn't to heavy and having one that will illuminate the distance you require. I would say get 100watts if you can carry it and the batteries will give you long enough operation time, but if not then the one you linked to seems fine.

Like Skyman says, its always a trade off of horsepower versus battery burn time and weight. Most of the newsies carry a 50 watt light in my neck of the woods, with a bigger battery set up. The dichroic filter is a nice touch for daylight fill. 50 Watts should give you a nice Medium 2 shot out to about 10 feet before you start falling off too much. Not a bad price for what you get.
