    Tell me the software to convert DVD movies into mpg or avi
    I am using Sony DVD Handicam. I am not able to edit my movies using Adobe Premier. May you please tell me which software will be better to convert those DVD movies into .mpg or .avi files? If you know some open source or free software, please mention those also.

    I have two computers one is installed with Windows (XP Professional) and the other is with Ubuntu Linux (2.6 kernel / KDE). So, no problem from those OSs.

    Your camera already has an output of mpeg. Go to www.sourceforge.net for open source software for mpeg to avi format.
