HDD VS miniDV Camcorder

i am new to this camcorder thing, but i am inclined to HDD (hard disk drive) camcorder for its convience, but one thing trouble me is the image quality in relative to Minidv, is HDD image quality is that bad or there are only slight differences, which does not matter in real world

thanks, skyman, i guess i was confused because so many site actually says HDD cam are more superior than DVD cam.
