    Stop from going to standby
I went to use my TRV-350 Sony camera as a web cam. How do I stop the camera to shifting into Standby mode?

The camera needs to be on, and not recording for about 8 hours.

    Thanks

    Check the manual
I don't know much about video cameras. But still cameras usually have a setting to control how soon the camera turns itself off. Look through the menu and read the manual and find out how to reach that setting and you should be able to set it up how you want. I think that control is usually called something like "Auto-off".

    its a sony
unfortunately unless you can trick the camera into thinking it is recording for that long (the tape running out is the problem here) then it can't be done with that camera. buy a cheap webcam, they are not expensive.

Re: Stop from going to standby
I know this thread is a few years old, but if you haven't found the solution, I have one. I was having the same problem. Sony tech support (eventually) suggested that I remove the video tape from the camera when I want to use it as a surviellance / webcam. I removed the tape, and that seems to have done the trick.
