Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Waterproof Camera - SD cards and batteries

I recnetly ordered this as a Black Friday deal:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DQRBSY

The only complaint I heard about this device is that the battery lasts an hour at most.

Is there any official higher-capacity battery I can use for this camera? One that is waterproof like the camera.

Also, I recently read about a waterproof SD card (I was under the assumption that SD cards are already waterproof, guess not).

Does this camera normally provide waterproof protection to the SD card slot anyway or does it assume you would want to use it underwater with internal memory only, in which case the card would become useful? (Provided it can operate underwater too).

The news on their website says it's waterproof only to 1.5m depth.
And it uses normal SD cards, so I think the camera protects it.
I can't find any details on it on the Sanyo UK website though.

Yes I am aware, the camera is reated as being able to go about 5 feet deep underwater for 60 minutes.

SD card is protected. I have one and recently used it at a pool in las vegas. Only had it underwater a couple of feet but everything was protected. Just have to make sure the door to the battery and sd card is clicked-closed or I'm sure there would be damage.
