Need help on a new DV camera!

I am trying to justify the extra time involved w tape down load. I need to see the difference between raw tape footage and raw hd footage. Its this possible?

I have purchased a 5d mark 2 and absolutely love the video but it lacks in functionality w focus and sound. I have a azden shotgun mic on it which made a huge difference in teh sound.


I understand there is compression w hd and flash but is it really going to be that noticeable?

You're right, the sound on a 5D is like a consumer video camera of a fraction of the cost.
Which is why I was glad to see the mic input on it.

What's the functionality problem with focus?

very slow and un sure of focus lock. Must prefocus and cannot track. Never the less I love the video quality of this camera. being I have also 25k in lens helps too.
