    Question Lead acid battery connection

Is it possible to safely connect (and use) 12V sealed lead-acid batteries with a Sony camera?

This is a DSR570 - very power hungry and the cost in batteries when filming in remote locations is enormous...

The power supply outputs 14.4V as do the Sony NiMH batteries.

Can I rig up a 14.4V supply with sealed lead-acid types and use them? Or will I end up toasting the camera?

    Thanks...

    Re: Lead acid battery connection

What is the amperage output of the lead acid batteries and how much can the camera handle. I would check with your local camera fix it guy before trying anything too crazy.
