JVC Everio GZ-mg20EK battery's don't recharge

Dear readers, My problem: I have a JVC Everio GZ-mg20EK camcorder. I have two battery's who wouldn't recharge. One is new. The camera works ok with the normal direct power source, but not with the battery anymore, Can somebody please tell me what can be the problem?

Either the batteries have developed memory and won't charge, or the charger is faulty. unfortunately unless you can borrow a battery there isn't really a way to tell. You should be able to buy both aftermarket batteries and chargers to suit that camera at most good camera shops though.
