hey there, im new here, i was wondering, i want to make my camera have a timer so that it takes photos after a set number of seconds, how do i do this on a 7D

Welcome to the forums!
I am not sure if you are after a video at low frames per second, or if you are after a sequence of still pictures spaced at an even interval of seconds. Either way I can't be much help as I haven't laid my hands on this camera although I really really want one!

You might have more luck posting this on the canon camera page, as this forum has a fair share of 7D users.

If you want timelapse functionality, you'll need to buy a Canon wired remote accessory.

Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3

Some 3rd party manufacturers might make something similar.
