    Supressing flash with Digital Rebel
I've been using the Digital Rebel for a couple of weeks and I can't find a way to just cut the flash off. I shoot a lot of wildlife in low light and when that thing pops up it often spooks the subject. I'd rather have an underexposure than have that flash jump up. Plus, if you go ahead and shoot something like a deer with the flash you wind up with a glowing "demon eyed" deer and red eye doesn't help for that. Is there a way to just cut the flash off?

It sounds as if you are using the Rebel's programmed modes. In these modes, the camera decides when to use the flash. Switch over to Av, Tv, or manual where you decide flash usage.

Ha! Yeah, your're right. I could have sworn that thing was popping up in Tv mode.
