Just joined. Lots of experience with Contax SLR, just bought Pentax K10D and find myself spending hours just trying to understand which lens's are compatible. I understand I can use some manual lens's with limitations but the AF info out there is conflicting at times. Some sites package DA lens's with K10's and other sites say the DA line is not compatable with AF bodies. Any good info or links appreciated.

Welcome to the site, Stitches! My understanding is that Pentax digital SLRs are compatible with all Pentax lenses - and that includes the old manual focus lenses. Pentax is the only camera manufacturer for which that is true. They offer true backwards compatibility. There may be some features that won't work on the K10D. For instance, a manual focus lens will not auto focus and a lens without electronic aperture control won't have full auto exposure. But I believe you can mount any Pentax lens on your K10D body.

You may want to make another post on the Pentax forum. You'll find more Pentax owners checking that forum and should be able to get more specific information.
