    Image settings on D70 RAW+JPEG?

    Hey all-
I pretty much always shoot in RAW+JPEG with my D70. In order to maintain the most control over my images, I set the contrast, saturation, etc. way down so that I can make those decisions. But won't these settings only affect the JPEG, since the RAW file is the raw sensor data from the camera? In other words, can I set the image settings to "direct print" and just be able to use those for printing snapshots, and then be able to tweak stuff myself in Camera Raw for the RAW files that I want the really high quality prints of?

    Thanks,
    Chip

You can change just about anything in the image in RAW, with the exception of the ISO setting. How much control you have depends on your software. And of course the changes are only a layer on top of the original data coming from the sensor so you can change them again at any time.
