need help?
I own the alpha with the 18-70 kit lens. The pictures are great for a lot of applications...but when shooting indoors or action..the lens is just not as great as I expexted? I was spoiled with my manual minolta with lens' that had f-stops in the 1.7 for my 50 mm and a 2.8 for my 70-200.
Should I trade back my kit lens and step up to some better glass and if so any reccomendations on some used minolta or sigma lens' that I could get that would fit this syatem?
Any response would be great!!

Re: need help?
What happened to your 50mm f/1.7?, it works with the Alpha, as well as all the Minolta AF lenses. If you don't have it, you can get used ones on ebay for $80 or $90.
The beercan 70-210 f/4 (or 75-210) is a very sharp lens, about $180 on ebay.
I wouldn't trade the kit lens. It's not the best one, but for the $100 or less that costs it's not a bad deal. Just loot at the prices of other 17mm lenses.

Re: need help?
I've seen converters on ebay, I think that you can use a MD or MC? with them. They were kind of pricy, about $160

Re: need help?
But they won't meter, or autofocus. They 18-70 is a good lens, but you could get a decent set up with a 70-210 F4, and 50 F1.7 together, for about $250.
