Re: Macro lens for Nikon D70
I recently bought the Tamron 90mm Di 2.8 lens that is a 1:1 macro and also an excellent portrait lens. I haven't had a chance to use it enough to say for sure, but so far it seems like a gem! My husband is a beekeeper and I have wanted to get some nice portraits of his "girls" as he calls them, but because I am a bit afraid of the bees, I have been using the Tamron 70-300 (1:2 macro not as good BUT I can stand a lot further away :)... The 70-300 is OK, but I think the 90mm will be a LOT better.
Good luck and let us know!

If you have a link to sample that would be nice too.

The 105 Micro Nikkor is about one of the highest quality macro lenses on the market. It yields incredibly sharp images. I'll post some pictures taken with it later on today.
Re: Macro lens for Nikon D70
I've been very happy with my Nikon 60 mm Micro Nikkor. If you're just getting into macro photography, it would be hard to push the limits of the 105 mm, and the 60 mm cost about half as much.

I have a tokina 100mm macro thats very sharp. it only goes to 1;2 mag, and you can only get them used, as they're not made any more. The reason that I would suggest this lens is that at $180 Its a great buy!
I bought mine and their available at keh.com.
