    Lenses for Maxxum 7D

Ok, how can I know which lenses will work on the 7D? I purchased a Sigma off Ebay and the camera won't recognize it. And it isn't just not having auto focus, the camera says lens not present! I try the same lens on a Minolta film camera and it works fine.

    Here is the lens:

And I'd like to buy one like this, but will it work?

    Thanks!

For whatever reason, Sigma lenses often have to be "rechipped" to work on newer cameras. It is annoying but Sigma will do it for free. Your problem sounds like a classic example of this.

How do I get it re-chipped?

Call up Sigma and they will give you the address to send the lens to. They will also tell you if this lens is known to have chip problems with your camera. They are very helpful!

The first lens isn't in production anymore so they probably won't rechip it - the second one they still make so that one should be fine, but like Michael said, call them first.

    pgowder-
Can you please post a review for your camera? So far we only have one review for the Maxxum 7D. Here's a link for the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D reviews:
