Inserting Nikon View Plug-in into Adobe Photoshop

Hi all,

In Adobe Photoshop, there's an import feature ( under File - Import) where we can import images from a certain imaging program.....

Just wanted to know how to insert our Nikon View plug-in to it so that when we choose under File - Import, the Nikon View program will be under that category......

Any idea how to do it?

Is your question where the plug-in needs to go to import .NEF raw files from your Nikon camera?

If so, simply installing the Nikon View software should install it for your in the proper location, which should be:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats\Nikon NEF Plugin LE.8bi

Note that this does not place an Import option in the file menu. You can now simply open .NEF raw files using the Open command on the File menu.

I actually prefer the Adobe Raw plug-in to the Nikon plug-in. The Adobe one has more options.

I'm not aware of any way to acutally use Nikon View software itself as a Photoshop plug-in. My understanding is that it is a stand-alone application.
