HELP! My Canon 1Ds won't "flash"
I plug my strobe into the hot shoe - or the PC terminal - and yet the flash doesn't flash. I went to B&H and bought new cables and it still won't work. (Of course, the cables have nothing to do with hooking it directly up to the PC terminal). I called Canon and they were, as usual, useless.

Am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't it simply flash which I click the camera?

The Hensels work fine when I test them but not when hooked up to the camera.

And to make matters worse, they don't flash when attached to my 10D either!

    HELP!!!!

Make sure the trigger voltage is within specs. Contact the manufacturer of the lights. If the trigger voltage is too high they might not fire and in the process might be doing serious damage to the cameras.

Sebastian is correct in saying the voltage can hurt your camera IF it is too high.

Did you ask the lighting guys or CANON guys at B&H?

you may want to get a set of radio slaves like the wein jr pro sync's?

MIND YOU, I am not a studio knowledgable guy, so take my suggestion with that in mind ;)
