Help!!! I Need Advice Badly
I am getting into digital photography and am looking for an inexpensive camera that will last me awhile, and it also has to stand up to a semi rough time shooting sports like snowbording mountian biking and also the occaisonial landscape shot. I dont mind paying alittle more for better quality but the less expensive the better.
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum. By what you're asking for, I don't know if a digital SLR is the right choice though - for two reasons. Digital SLR's are anything but inexpensive! There are only two out there at the moment for less than $1000, and that's before buying lenses, memory cards, etc. Also, they change often enough that planning on keeping it for a few years would certainly work but might not be ideal.
The technology is new enough that each time a new one comes out (frequently), it's usually a lot better and/or less expensive than what was before it. I shoot Nikon so I'll use this example - the D100 and the D70. Now, officially the D70 doesn't replace the D100 but at about three years old, the D100 is almost ancient. The D70 is a less expensive camera, but much better than the D70 in a lot of respects. It's also about half of the D100's original price. The D100 will still take great images years from now, but there will always be better equipment.
Also, pro cameras are the ones built to take hard use better than consumer cameras, and they're much more expensive. Nothing really will take abuse well, however.
Any ideas on your budget?
