I'm shopping for my first DSLR, trying to decide between a Nikon D200 and Canon XTi. I know of someone locally selling a D200 body with grip, 2 batteries, & 24-120 lens for $1000. I probably wouldn't choose that lense to buy if it didn't come with the camera. The other option is an XTi, which will leave more money left for lenses now. I don't shoot professionally, but I'm considering going in that direction. I do occasional portraits for people I know, and I'd like to start building on that. The big decision is whether to buy the body I can grow into or put more weight on lenses to start. Any insight would be appreciated.
