    Turn Flash Off

    Hi, Is it possible to switch off the pre-flash of my Canon EOS 400D.

    Hello,

    What do you mean by "The Pre-Flash"? If you are talking about the flash before your flash goes off to take the picture, I believe that first flash is for red eye reduction. I will see with my camera, I have the XTi also, if turning off the red eye will help with that.

    Hi, on auto seletions the flash pops up when taking a picture is there a flash on/off in the menu for auto picture taking...?

    Yes there is. The very last dial setting on the camera. It has a flash with a line thru it.
