Canon XT battery won't fully charge.
I'm having a little problem. I let the battery charge using the normal charger and instead of the light turning green (from red) at some point the light just goes off completely. At that point the battery claims to be half charged. And it acts like it's half charged too, not giving me a lot of time to shoot. Any idea what's going on? Is the battery bad? The charger? Both? I'm not sure if this is a common problem. Thanks!

How old is the battery, and any idea of how many charging cycles it's been through?

It might just be it's reached the end of its life and needs replacing

I bought it as a refurb from Adorama in Summer 2008. Is this how a battery that's done for acts? I'd be happy to get a new one but I don't want to then find out the charger is faulty. Maybe I should just replace both...

Which is cheaper, a battery or a charger?

Secondly, even if it turns out to be the charger, a second battery never goes amiss.
