Given the raft of features and the price, the Pentax K10D is certanly one of the most incredable cameras to premier this year. It'll hit the market in late October or early Novembdr of 2006.

With weather sealing, excellent control set, anti-shake, and the ability to use any K mount lens you care to fit to it, it sets a new standard. Hopefully the other manufacturers will pick up the ball and produce similar cameras.

Hard to say. Sony started this wave, Nikon and Canon answered, and Pentax put the icing on the cake. My vote is for all of them. As long as they're all out there competing with each other like this we win!

"Best" is etremely subjective and based on the needs of each photographer. Your question is just like asking what the "best"cheese is, the "best" color", or the best "vehicle." There is no answer that makes any sense.

Held the XTi the other day. Feels the slightest bit more solid but just as uncomfortable as the XT. I wouldn't buy one if my life depended on it. I did have toys when I was five that felt more solid. Heck, I've build Legos that were more solid.

That D80 looks nice....my personal vote is for that one.

Sony Alpha is a great camera too. I switch from the Rebel XT to the Alpha. I think Sony will innovate new features in future products.

Be a good sport. Of course you're right. But you can still play.

    Sony and Pentax
The Sony Alpha with built-in image stabilization and 10-megapixels of resolution really impressed me. It far exceeded my expectations. If I wasn't already heavily invested in another system I would consider keeping it.

I haven't had a chance to try the Pentax K10D yet. But it is looking to be an awesome camera - especially for outdoor photographers. Built-in image stabilization and weather resistance in a compact 10-megapixel digital SLR? Sign me up!
