40D EXIF wont stay, 350D will, same processing.
When I process my 350D photos by dropping raws into photoshop and then saving them, they keep their EXIF info, but when I import my 40D's raws, they don't show up online or even in the file themselves. I'm confused.

I process them both identically so I dont know what could be throwing it off. Any things I can try to fix this?

Hmmm. So am I to understand that the exif data is not importing when you open the file? Or are you losing it somewhere along the way?

Can you give us some more detail? I know that EXIF data is stripped when you use Photoshop's Save For Web feature. But I haven't noticed it being lost any other way. And I haven't noticed any difference between cameras and I have a 40D.

How do you import your photos? I use a card reader and transfer them all to a directory where I store the RAW files. It could be that the way your importing them is the problem. Your post didn't make it completely clear to me what your workflow was. But it sounds like maybe you could tighten up your workflow a bit.

I dont use the save for web, I save directly out of camera raw and if I need to, I open it in photoshop, edit, and then save as jpeg(not using "Save for Web").

I have a Lexar WriteAccelerated Firewire CF reader that I use to transfer the shots. I usually drag them into a folder and then take the shots from the folder right into Adobe CameraRaw.

Sorry about the vague description. Had a bunch of other things going on so I just dropped the basic jist of the problem into the thread.

**I also am not able to view thumbnails from the 40D in windows, but I can view the 350D's. I've heard this is common. Any way to fix this as well?

Are you cropping your photos at all? If so, what method do you use?

I crop photos within adobe camera raw. Cropping and exposure/lighting work is done in camera raw and any little extras like USM are applied in photoshop and saved as jpeg.
