    10D vs. Rebel XT
Both these cameras are in my range to upgrade, but I am wondering which one would be better to get, a used 10D or a new rebel XT? Or more precisely, what does the 10D have over the new rebel?

My friend is in a similar quandary with the Rebel XT and the D70...

The most obvious difference between the 10D and the Rebel XT is the build. The XT being smaller and plastic (on the outside), and the 10D being larger and magnesium alloy. I haven't actually handled a 10D, but the 20D that I tried had way more heft than the Rebel, and the XT is supposed to be even smaller and lighter. That out of the way, I think the XT looks to be a more capable camera than the 10D, with higher resolution (8mp vs. 6mp) faster startup, faster write speeds, bigger buffer, probably better AF, b/w mode (if you care about that...), and probably a few more things.

Of course, if you wait even longer, the 20Ds price may drop enough to where you can fit it in your budget....

I can't personally help you here - but check out the specs here (links) - that might help make an "intelligent" decision.
