XD Media Card Help Needed
My daughter took several pictures at her first concert with a Fuji point & shoot. She mistakenly moved the DCIM file from her card to her desktop. My initial thought was that this should have only copied it but the file no longer shows up when you connect the camera to her computer.
If you connect her card to a computer via a stand alone card reader, the computer will not recognize it at all. If I connect her camera to her computer via the USB cable, the card shows up and it shows that it contains 31mb of data but will not open.
We would really like to salvage these images if possible. I have seen several data recovery firms on the web, just not sure which one would be the real deal.
Any help would be appreciated!

If the folder is on her desktop, it should contain the image files and you should be able to open them from there. But you're right, it should have removed them from the memory card. I'd try opening them from the folder on the desktop. That should work. If you end up needing file recovery software, get it from Lexar or Sandisk. I've used both and they both work great on memory cards. You might also consider getting a card reader so the camera isn't a part of the equation. I haven't connected a camera to a computer in years.

I've tried opening the file on her desktop and it appears there's nothing in it. I have connected her card to the computer via a card reader, the computer will not even recognize that there's a card inserted.

I think she may have moved the index for the files to her card. The files are still on her card I would bet. Move the file off the computer back on to the card and it should set it all back like it was.

That's the very first thing I thought of but when I attempt to move the file back to the card it won't load. I know the files are there, I put the card into an HP printer last night with a photo preview window and the images showed up but when I tried to print them it said the card was corrupt. I would gladly send it to a data recovery firm if I knew one that someone else had used before with success.
Re: XD Media Card Help Needed
Data recovery firms are EXPENSIVE. Try the XD version of "F-recovery". You should be able to recover the card and the pictures from there. Absent that, you may just need to chalk this up to experience. Sometimes a harsh teacher.

Hi,
Few weeks ago, I have been facing same problem. Then i started googling and found Stellar phoenix photo recovery software. I have tried the demo version of this software which showed me the preview of recovered images and audio from memory card then i purchased the full version and got my all data back.
