    What's a good tripod?
I've been looking at tripods, but I'd like to know what you all recommend? I'm using a 40D and 5D sometimes with the 70-200L so it's got some weight to it. Thanks.

    Check our reviews here: http://www.photographyreview.com/cat...S_3114crx.aspx
Bogen/Manfrotto seem to be the most commonly used but there are other good ones.
Much depends on what kind of shooting you are doing and the weight of your gear.
And then there's the heads to put on them which can be either 3 way pan or ball head.
Oh! And then there's your budget to consider. Get the best you can afford so you don't have to throw it away and buy another one.
If the description says professional it probably isn't.

Thanks Frog. I've been looking online, but I guess there's no substitute for a good ol' sales professional.

A good tripod is the one you'll take with you and use. Here's an article on tripods I've always thought was interesting. I am currently in the middle phase in his article with a Bogen (Manfrotto) 3221 legset and an Acratech Gimbal head. I also have a lightweight set up with a Benro CF legset and another Acratech Ultimate head. I will probably be moving to a more pro head such as the Kirk BH-1 or the Really Right Stuff BH-55 on my heavy legset.
Edit: Link added(I am a complete space lately).
